The race to see who joins Kilcormac/Killoughey and St Rynagh’s in the SHC semi-finals concludes this weekend.

The remaining two quarterfinals are down for decision and these are two games that look set to go down to the wire.

The Offaly SHC has been a fascinating contest so far and this weekend looks set to be no different.

Birr and Shinrone meet in O’Connor Park on Saturday evening, while Belmont and Coolderry face off in Birr on Sunday afternoon.

Once the kingpins of the county, Birr have suffered some lean times in recent years, but they still can match the best on their day, although Shinrone may have enough to see them over the line.

Coolderry only scraped through to the last eight and who would bet against them building up momentum from here on in? On form though, Belmont should edge this one.

An open draw will be held on Sunday evening for the semi-finals.
