Division 2 Football League.   Ballycumber 2—12 Erin Rovers 0—10.

Ballycumber collected two more league points with a brilliant first half performance in Pullough on Thursday evening. Erin Rovers got the first point of the game and with a bit of luck could have scored 2—2 in the first ten minutes. But it was the visitors who took their chances better after Luke Gavin Mangan hand passed the first point. Cormac Quinn added a point and then drove a great shot to the net after receiving a good pass from Joe Lowry. He added two more points from frees before Erin Rovers got their second point from a free. Joe Lowry kicked a point after winning the ball near the sideline. The home side responded with a point from play. A good passing movement involving Joe Lowry, Cormac Quinn and Tom Corcoran was finished to the net by Marcus Keena. Luke Gavin Mangan made a high catch in the middle of the pitch and kicked the ball over the bar. Cormac scored another free and a free from Erin Rovers reduced the lead. Joe Lowry scored another point to which the home side replied with a point from play. Another high catch by Luke provided the ball for Gary Larkin to pass to Emmet Kelly for the final score of the half. 2—9 to 0—5.

A rejuvenated Erin Rovers got into their stride in the second half and they added two points to their tally. A long scoreless period of time followed with a lot of missed placed passes and turnovers. Cormac scored a point from play and the home sided added three points to narrow the gap. Cormac completed the scoring with a point from a free and from a 45.
