Offaly dual star Seán Ryan has brought the curtain down on his 13-year inter-county career.

The Birr clubman made almost 100 appearances for the Faithful County between league and championship in both codes, having first made his mark with the footballers in 2006 when they were plying their trade in Division 1 of the Allianz League and also reached the Leinster final that year.

He scored 1-2 on his senior hurling championship debut against Tipperary the following year, whilst also continuing to line out for the footballers. However, he has concentrated on the small ball code in recent years and captained the hurlers last year. His last appearance for the Faithful County came against Dublin in this year's Leinster club SHC round-robin series.

Small in stature, Ryan played in a variety of positions in both codes.
