Offaly 2-16

Louth 1-7

Offaly have set up a Leinster U20FC quarter-final meeting with neighbours Westmeath next weekend after making light work of Louth's challenge at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park this morning.

Declan Kelly's charges were always in control of this Group 3 clash as Louth exited the championship after also losing to Carlow in the previous round. Today's result means the Barrowsiders also progress to the quarter-finals and a meeting with Kildare.

Conor Dunne gave Offaly the perfect start with a goal in the sixth minute. Cian Johnson, who opened the scoring after only 17 seconds, Dan Wyer and Jack Darcy tagged on further scores before Cian Farrell raised the Faithful's second green flag on 24 minutes to make it 2-8 to 0-2.

Offaly led by all of 14 points, 2-10 to 0-2, at the interval and the result was never in doubt after that, despite Louth top-scorer Sam Mulroy netting a 55th minute penalty after he had hit the post from an earlier penalty. The Wee County finished with 14 players after Fergal Malone picked up a second yellow card late on.
