Just having a quick look at the table and last nights results leave Scotstown 3 points form safety with 8 games to go. I reckon they will have to win at least 4 of the last 8 at least in order to be safe. What do people think??? Have Scotstown ever been intermediate???

At the start of the year I would have picked Currin and Traugh to go down. Scotstown where in a position like this back about five or six years ago they should be able to pick up enough points.
They would need to start picking some points up 4 wins from the last 8 games should be enough. However Scotstown have been really bad all year and sometimes its hard to get back to winning ways.

Some may say the only reason they stayed up the last time was due to the fact the county board re scheduled a game v ballybay where it was two days after a county game and bbay would have to play without Paul Finlay. Bbay forfeited the fixture and in essence handed Scotstwon survival in there place.

That is true I forgot about that. It might be a good thing if they do go down. I think Scotstown have alot of players who are very cocky and they said they would win the championship pulling up.
It was good to see Currin get the win in the championship I was shocked at the result as league form doesn't really matter come championship. I think the fact that Darren Hughes there only top class player has missed alot of games has cost them.

Scotstown had a panel of 40 players for the championship game against Currin so they should be able to cope with the loss of one player and by the way all clubs have been without top players for certain games.

I know they had 40 players but no quality there. I don't think they should be in the position they are in because of Darren Hughes alone but this has been a factor as he is there leader. As I have said it wouldn't be a bad thing if they go down.
Blayney and carrick have lost more players then Scotstown through injury and players leaving to go abroad. Scotstown have no excuses for the way they have played this year.
So Hardasnails not making excuses for them I don't care if they go down to be honest.

They a great club, whether they stay up or down. If they do go down, I will bet massive money on them winning the All Ireland inter title like Inniskeen some years back.

Let's face it, they're three junior clubs joined together, should be fit to survive div 1.

i hope they go down. cause they got 4pts handed to them that year. 2pts from that ballybay game. they also got points from maraghcloone cause they wouldnt change a game for them& a ref just happen not to turn up for a game that scotstown had serious amount of players injured for. a great club that had great players but now has to much sway at board level. i think they will stay up. truagh are goin through bad results& harps will find it hard to pick up points, but u never no

Big week for Scotstown (and all senior clubs) this week. 3 games in a week. Will go a long way to see if Scotstown do go down.
Monaghan Harps away - Draw here would be a good result, however I see the harps win this one. Carrick at home - Carrick 2nd in the league and with Scotstowns form can only see a Carrick win here. Latton away - Latton to win this one.
Can't see Scotstown getting much more out of the 3 games and if so looks very like Scotstown for Intermediate football next year.

Judging by their results since this thread started, I'd imagine every post is hanging up in the Scotstown dressing room.

The Face
I somehow doubt the scotstown players/club care what is being said on this site...But I do love reading what the "knowalls" have to say after county and club games..All great managers after a game has being played. Should have done this, that and the other....blablabla...and I'm not referring to you personally The Face as you are, like myself, not a regular poster.

Well seeing as carrick were missing 12 players from last years team and by the end of the game carrick had four players on that were over 21 on I wouldn't rate scotstown on this game but they won't go down !

You don't happen to have tonight's Lotto numbers do you, Colin? Seems like rumours of our demise have been greatly exaggerated

Things can change so quickly. Only last week Blayney and Scotstown seemed to be struggling a little and now you would have to say that they are the form teams heading in to the break. The championship is wide open and it seems as though any one of 5 teams could win it. Latton, Blayney, Clontib, Scotstown and Ballybay. Mcloone may yet still have a say but I think they are on the wane.
