Doohamlet club notes

April 19, 2017

Seniors:  Our Senior team played two games last week in the Intermediate league and under our new management are showing very well and though not at full strength there are encouraging signs for the year ahead.  Doohamlet travelled to Carrick on Wednesday evening last and produced a wonderful display before conceding defeat by only two points.  Carrick  1-12   Doohamlet  2-04

Kevin McArdle continues his fine form in the forward line scoring two goals to keep Doohamlet ahead but a strong finish by the home side edged them over the line.

On Saturday evening  Doohamlet welcomed our neighbours Cremartin to ONeill Park and a rousing second half from our boys saw them overwhelm a depleted Cremartin side.  Darren Ducksy Connolly with his pace and power caused the Cremartin defence all sorts of problems and finished with a personal tally of 2-0.  Both sides went in at the break level at 0-04 each but the introduction of Niall J. Connolly in the second half totally changed the game in Doohamlet's favour and the home side scored at will to dominate a beleaguered Cremartin defence.  Our other goal scorers were Kevin McArdle and Barry McBennett.

There will be a short break now until Saturday 29th April when Doohamlet travel to Emyvale for our next Intermediate league fixture.

Minors:  Our Minor team lost to Cremartin last week going down by 6 points.  The concession of three first half goals proved to much after a very good second half display.

Sponsorship:  Doohamlet GFC are delighted to announce that Gerry and Deirdre McElroy are once again our Main Sponsors for the coming year.  Gerry and Deirdre's loyalty and dedication to our Club knows no bounds and we are forever indebted to them for their unwavering support of our Club.  Many thanks Gerry and Deirdre.
