Emyvale GAA Club Notes

June 03, 2020

Emyvale GAA Charity Run On Saturday June 6th the Emyvale GAA Men's Senior Team will take part in a Charity Relay Run to raise much needed funds for two very worthy charities; 1. Pieta House - Providing therapy free of charge for those in suicidal distress, people engaging in self-harm, or those who have been bereaved by suicide. 2. Blackwater Valley Community Centre - Providing essential services to older people and vulnerable adults in the North Monaghan Area including a home meal delivery service, a good morning call service and meeting other essential needs. Each of our 42 players (and management!) will run a minimum of 5km to another player's house - coming together while staying apart in a relay format. That's a total of 220km with our first player departing at 4.00am and the last one expected home at around 11.00pm. We will cover the areas of Aughnacloy, Truagh, Emyvale, Glaslough, Scotstown, Monaghan Town and wait for it....Abu Dhabi & Australia! All donations are greatly appreciated and a big thank you in advance. https://www.gofundme.com/f/ae9j8y-emyvale-gaa-charity-relay-run

Congratulations to the Emyvale recipients who picked up awards at the St Macartans College virtual awards ceremony last week ; Andrew Stewart (1st year basketball player of the year). Michael Hamill (Ranafast player of the year) and Karl Gallagher (McRory and Sports person of the year). Well done to all three on these great achievements and its testament to your hard work.

Phase 2 of National Road Map and GAA Covid-19 Restrictions If as expected the country moves into Phase 2 of the national re-opening plan on Monday 8th June it is hoped that we will get some clarity from the GAA headquarters. Any new guidance received from the GAA will be passed on as it develops through our club notes and social media.
