Annual Dinner Dance:
This Saturday night in Aughnamullen Social Centre is the place to be when we celebrate famous men of the years gone by. First up is the Treanor Cup Winning Side of 2000 who defeated Truagh in the final by 1 point on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2-08 with Francis Duffy scoring the all important score deep into injury time.
Other factors during that game was a crucial save from Alan Gilliland just before we scored the winner, a point by Fintan Boyle(possibly the only touch he got that day) and resolute working by the defence pushing up the field even the full back Aiden Duffy scoring a great crucial point and a fine goal scored by goal machine Aidan Flanagan. Anyway the panel were as follows Alan Gilliland, Peter Mc Garrell, Aidan Duffy(0-1), Enda Duffy, Michael Kerr, Barry Geoghegan, Brian Duffy, Colm Connolly, Mark Meegan(0-3), Tim Lennon, Seamus Deery(0-4), Fintan Boyle(0-1), Patrick Duffy, Francis Duffy(0-2), Aidan Flanagan(1-1) Subs used Shane Mc Ginn for Colm Connolly, other subs Stephen Forde, Sean Duffy, Patrick Lee, Lee Conlan, Mark Mc Garrell, Edward Forde, Edmond Mc Ardle, Damien Hamilton, Mark Hamill, Ciaran Mooney, Kieran Mc Keown, Padraig Geoghegan.
