Raymond Gilliland Memorial Tourament: An U13 football tournament is being organised this Sunday the 13th October commencing at 2.30pm. Team taking part are Latton, Drumhowan, Doohamlet & Aughnamullen for the right to claim the inaugural Raymond Gilliland Memorial Trophy. Many thanks is extended to the Gilliland family for donating the trophy. The Gilliland family has been involved with our club for over 50 years. Raymond played alongside his late brother Sidney where they won the 1964 & 1965 Dr Ward Cup and 1967 Junior Championship and their brother Martin was involved in Intermediate Winning sides of 1972/73 side. When Raymond footballing career finished he became involved in the management of our Senior team in the early 1980's. Always through this time he was actively involved supporting our club either supporting any fundraising activities or attending matches from Senior to Juvenile alongside his wife Bridgie Anne and he had great pride watching his sons Joe & Alan donning the blue jersey and also Daughter Caroline representing the Gilliland family as a valued member of the successful ladies team of the late 1990's and it was fitting he was inducted into the clubs hall of fame in 2003. A true blue if there was ever one. It is hoped that this tournament gets as much support on Sunday next.
