Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League ;

Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League action continued last Friday 7th June and all roads led to Annaghminnon for this local derby between Corduff and Magheracloone .This fixture created a lot of interest and the 2 south Monaghan sides battled it out to register a win and points on the Intermediate league table. It was nip and tuck throughout with the sides level 6 times. Having gone level for the first time in the third minute with scores from the boots of Fergal Hanratty and Sean Burms there was a barren patch as both sides failed to register a score but when they did the aforementioned Hanratty and Fionn O’Callaghan added to Corduff’s tally of 6 points by the interval. Magheracloone edged it by a point at half time and seconds after the restart rattled the Corduff net and continued to widen the gap until a super goal by Jamie King ignited the Corduff side again and by the 14th minute the sides were level for the 4th time. Corduff backs worked tirelessly throughout ensuring Magheracloone scores were kept to a minimum. Keith McEnaney levelled matters for the 5th time with the sides deadlocked on 1-11 each. Both camps entered the last 10 minutes level on 1-12 each but another point from Sean Burns and a point from Ciaran Brennan put the icing on the cake with a 2 point win. Congratulations to the team and management on this win.

Corduff Gaels would like to thank this match sponsors Peter Burns, Burns’ Pub Shercock, and Patrick McEnaney The Local Pub, Westport. As always we urge all members and supporters to support our sponsors.
