Armagh’s hurlers are heading to Croke Park for this year’s Nicky Rackard Cup final on Saturday, June 22.

The Orchard County emerged victorious over Tyrone on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-20 in today’s semi-final at Inniskeen.

The winners shaded the first-half by the narrowest of margins (1-9 to 0-11) thanks to Danny Magee’s 10th minute goal.

Damian Casey pulled a goal back for the Red Hands shortly after the resumption but that was cancelled out by Eoin McGuinness’ 46th minute effort and it’s Armagh who await the winners of tomorrow’s last four clash between Sligo and Warwickshire in the decider.

It will be their seventh final appearance overall and fourth in five years.

Meanwhile, Monaghan won their relegation play-off against Louth by three points – 4-17 to 2-20 – at Crossmaglen.

Mark Treanor’s late goal proved to be the difference between the sides at the final whistle.
