Clontibret club notes

December 18, 2018

New Walking Track

The Clontibret Walkway is now open. On Sunday last the gate was informally opened and will remain so each day until 10.30pm daily. A more formal official opening will take place early in the New Year. Patrons are asked to use the newly constructed entry and exit gate and to stay on the track as designated as well as respecting the basic rules of usage. In accordance with GAA guidelines dogs are not allowed. It is a wonderful facility to have and great praise is due to all who helped to make it happen so please respect it and the work of those who helped put it there. So the Walkway is open for use…just push through the gate and walk!

Volunteer Awards

The second annual club volunteer awards organised by Monaghan GAA Board was held in the Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday night last. Our nominee this year was Kieran Lavelle a former club secretary, club treasurer and current club safety officer as well as being a very hands-on member of the Development committee. Kieran has given and continues to give great service to the club in so many different aspects and is a very worthy recipient of the honour bestowed on him.

Scór & Culture Club Of The Year

At the county convention last week we were announced winners of the Scor and Culture Club Of The Year award for our participation in Scor and Culture activities throughout the year. A big thanks to all those who took part in all the various Scor competitions in 2018, and to all the Anthem singers at matches. It’s your involvement and participation that has resulted in this award coming to Clontibret. Thanks to Cultural Officer Eilis who organises Scor participants, and to Aiden Deighan who took charge of victorious quiz teams.
