MC ELVANEY'S WASTE AND RECYCLING IFC FINAL
Doohamlet 0-9
Sean Mc Dermotts 0-8
Doohamlet captured a fourth intermediate championship title this decade with Colin Walshe securing the victory with a fisted point in the 3rd minute of injury time to win by single point over Sean Mc Dermotts in O' Neill Park, Clontibret, yesterday.
Sean Mc Dermots would have been the happier side going in at half time with the score at four points apiece as Doohamlet had kicked numerous wides playing with a strong wind and had led but the Seans finished the half strongly with a Brian Mc Quaid point.
An Adam O Driscoll point opened the scoring for the Seans in the second half but Doohamlet took control at this point to go two points up and Sean Mc Dermotts couldn't penetrate a resolute Doohamlet defence until Danny Mc Nally kicked a point in the 18th minute. Further points were exchanged and Pat Kieran kicked an equaliser for the Threemilehouse men in the 29th minute and with both sides missing opportunities it looked liked the game was going to a replay until county captain Walshe fisted the winner deep into injury time.
