Seniors: The Senior team played away to Tyholland on Friday last and came away with an excellent 0-13 to 0-10 point victory. This was a game which could have went either way but its encouraging to see that the lads never gave up to the final whistle. In the first half Aughnamullen went into the lead from a Edmond Mc Ardle free but this was cancelled by a Tyholland point. Aughnamullen then went 0-3 to 0-1 up courtesy of Pete Dooney & Kevin Sheridan  but again Tyholland reduced the lead when they scored 1 of their own however again came back another score from us from the boot of captain Mark Mc Ardle but credit to the homeside they kept plugging away and levelled it going into half time but a pointed free from Edmond Mc Ardle left us 1 up at the break 0-6 to 0-5. In the second half Aughnamullen scored 2 early scores from Colin Clerkin & Kevin Sheridan however Tyholland scored 3 points on the spin to go 0-9 to 0-8 with 12 min remaining. In the final 10 minutes scores were traded equally and entering the final 5 minutes the scores were tied at 0-10 each. In the final few minutes Aughnamullen put the gas on with a brilliant score by Shane Forde and 2 other points by Centre back Keith Sheridan & Michael Bannigan to get over the finishing line by 3 points. Next game is on this Saturday night away to Sean Mc Dermotts at 7pm. Please support the team. Best wishes is extended to the young Tyholland players who got injured at the game.
