Doohamlet club notes

April 11, 2018

SENIORS:  Toome 1-16 Doohamlet 0-10

Doohamlet travelled to Toome on Sunday last for their second league outing but came away empty handed after a disappointing performance. There was doubt before throw-in if this game would go ahead as there was a lot of surface water on the pitch but credit both teams for serving up an entertaining match despite the poor conditions. Play flowed from end to end with both teams trading score for score. Barry McBennett, Barry McGinn and Colin and Jamie Walshe were  all on target in the first half as the sides went in at the break with Toome ahead by the minimum 0-07 to 0-06. Doohamlet levelled the scores straight away after halftime as the game followed the same pattern with both teams trading points. However the crucial score came in the 43rd minute when a high speculative ball eluded the Doohamlet defence and ended in the Doohamlet net . This gave the home side the confidence to see out the game as Doohamlet never recovered.

Doohamlet will play Aughnamullan in round three at home on Sunday 22nd April with a 2pm throw in.

Fixtures: Our Reserves are in action this weekend when they travel to Ballybay. Please check fixture list for time of Throw-In.
