Clontibret Our Future

As we approach year end the Clontibret our Future promoters are working to finalise their contributor's lists. If you haven't been approached yet please contact your promoter or any member of the club executive to complete your contribution for Year 3. This funding is essential for Phase 3 and Phase 4 of our development programme which will include the creation of an all weather playing pitch alongside our existing pitch as well as the development of a 1km walking track around the perimeter of the facility. As part of the local contribution for this we depend on the generosity of our Clontibret Our Future members. If you haven't made any contribution to the fund yet it is not too late to start as all contributions, large or small will be gratefully accepted. Please be as generous as you can so that this plan can soon become a reality.

Annual General Meeting

The club AGM for 2018, held at the clubrooms on Friday night last was a business-like affair with all positions filled on the night. Outgoing Chairman Aidan Deighan set the tone for the meeting with a wide ranging Chairman's address while the secretary's report from Frank McManus and the treasurer's report from Fergal Mone gave all present a comprehensive account of proceedings for the year both on the field and off. John P Mone recalled the highlights of the underage setup while short reports from Kieran Lavelle (Bar Committee) and Francis McGuigan (Development Committee) summarised events under their watch. The election of officers was straight forward, the only major change being the election of Thomas Greenan as Chairman to succeed Aidan Deighan who has stepped down after three years in the chair. Many good wishes were expressed by members present for the incoming Chairman, Thomas, in his new role and also to Aidan for his work in the role this past three years. In the only other changes, Colm Gormley comes in as Vice Chairman and Pauric Boyle as Players Officer. Officers for 2018 include,President; Brendan Murphy, Vice President; Robert Kidney, Chairman; Thomas Greenan, Secretary; Frank McManus, Treasurer; Martin McCague, Vice Chairman; Colm Gormley, Asst. Secretary; Fergal Mone, Asst. Treasurers; Helen Molloy, Niall Brennan, Seamus Duffy, PRO; Kathy McManus, Insurance Officer; Peadar Hughes, Children's Officer; Caroline McQuaid, Youth Officer; John P Mone, Coaching Officer; Padraig McGuigan, Registrar; Margaret Walsh, Development Officer; Francis McGuigan, Cultural Officer; Eilish Clarke, Healthy Club Officer; Jerome Savage, Players Officer; Pauric Boyle, Co Committee Delegate; Colm Gormley. Gold Rush Run/Walk

The annual Gold Rush run (3mile/5mile) will be held on Wednesday 27th December (not Thursday as previously announced) at 2pm. Charities to benefit from this year's Gold Rush will include the new Downs Syndrome centre for the North East to be opened shortly in Carrickmacross. This is your chance to run or walk off the Christmas turkey and make a contribution to a worthy local cause at the same time.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the families of a number of good GAA men from neighbouring clubs who died recently, Pat Macken from Castleblayney, Liam Stirrat, Scotstown and former Chairman of Monaghan GAA and Mackie Moyna, Scotstown and Monaghan. Mackie Moyna was a county colleague of Clontibret players such as John Rice and Hugh McKearney in the late 40's and early 50's and they remained lifelong friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anameacha.
