Triple delight for St. Colmcilles BNS

Celebration time for St Colmcilles BNS after their win over St Pauls in the Shield hurling final.

Gaelic Games is alive and well in St. Colmcilles BNS. The Kells school has dominated the Division 1 Cumann Na mBunscol football competition winning in 2017/18 and 2018. 

The school had not been in the winners enclosure since 2004 but that was all forgotten on June 19th 2018 when they overcame St Marys Ashbourne 3-12 to 2-7 to claim the Division 1 title at Trim.

Fast forward to last November and the Kells lads retained their title with a 4-6 to 2-10 win over Ratoath Senior Primary at the Lomans Park venue.

The schools hurlers put the icing on the cake last Saturday also at the Trim venue when they claimed Shield Hurling Final. Under the guidance of Meave Henrietta Briody, Ciaran Bird and Will Anderson they defeated St Pauls Navan 2-10 to 1-3.

The squad that claimed the Shield hurling Final was  Zac Ó Baoithséil, Oisín Breathnach, Noah Ó Baoithséil, Seán Ó Ceallacháin, Sé Mac Manús, Tiernán Mac Aindrís (Capt), Seán Ó Garmaile, Jeaic Ó Geallagáin, Crochúr Óg MacFheargasa, Aindriú Ó Garmaile, Micheál Ó Duinn, Fionn Mac Muiris, Beircheart Mac an tSionnaigh, Cillian Ó Riain, Micheál Ó Riain, Pionsias Mac Éilearán, Crochúr Ó Flanagáin, Oisín Ó Siordúin, Jeaic Ó Madháin, Eibhean Demange, Daire Ó Braonáinx, Tomás Ó Treasaigh, Beircheart Ó Daibhín.
