Navan O'Mahonys stand for a minutes silence in memory of the late Eamon Keelaghan before the SFC with Summerhill at Pairc Tailteann

Round 4 of the Meath football championship came to a close last Tuesday evening in Pairc Tailteann.

Skryne recorded a double over Gaeil Colmcille in a week, Ratoath and Dunboyne continue to prosper, another win for holders Simonstown, St Colmcilles make a little bit of history.

Here is our best XV from the penultimate round.

1 Jack Hannigan (Donaghmore Ashbourne): A couple of fine saves from the former county panellist was crucial as the Moores saw off a stubborn Dunshaughlin at Ratoath.

2 Stephen O'Brien (Skryne): Scored a crucial point to ignite the Skryne challenge that ended in victory against Kells at Navan. The tigerish defender also set up another score in the first half.

3 Stephen Moran (Simonstown): A rock on the edge of the square as the Keegan Cup holders made easy work of Blackhall Gaels at Navan.

4 Barry Smith (Gaeil Colmcille): Despite the height disadvantage held Skryne dangerman Paddy O'Rourke scoreless from play at Pairc Tailteann.

5 Gavin McCoy (Dunboyne): Went about his defensive duties with the usual confidence. One of ten St Peters players to get on the scoresheet against Seneschalstown in Ashbourne.

6 Willie Ryan (Summerhill): O'Mahonys were made to work extremely hard for any scores they got because of the hard working Ryan and co. Made a crucial goal line clearance in the second half as O'Mahonys threatened a fight back.

7 Padraig Geraghty (Summerhill): A busy hour around the half back line and midfield areas, strong in the tackle and never wasted possession in that Tuesday night win over Navan O'Mahonys.

8 Daire Rowe (Syddan): Could not be pinned down, some terrific movement on and off the ballScored 12 points in that impressive 0-18 to 2-9 win over Dunderry at Bohermeen.

9 Ethan Devine (Na Fianna): Scored three points and put in a major shift around the middle sector as the Baconstown Enfield Rathmoylon combination gave themselves a chance of qualification.

10 Ryan Moore (Longwood): The pacey attacker was exceptional against Meath Hill and chipped in with eight points at Pairc Tailteann.

11 Darragh Campion (Skryne): The Meath Under 20 star is having a fine season in the club senior jersey. Scored three points and ran the show for the Tara men in that narrow win over Gaeil Colmcille.

12 Conor O'Brien (Skryne): A constant thorn in the Gaeil Colmcille side. Outstanding work rate and link play and chipped in with a crucial 1-1 in that win over Gaeil Colmcille.

13 James Conlon (St. Colmcilles): The lively attacker may have only scored two points but gave the St Pats defence the run around as the Seasiders created history by qualifying for the SFC knockout stages for the first time.

14 Andy Tormey (Donaghmore Ashbourne): Signs of the former county player getting back to his best. Not for the first time this season finished top scorer for his team hitting 1-8 in that six point win over Dunshaughlin.

15 Joey Wallace (Ratoath): Another impressive display from the county senior. Hit 2-4 in that rout of Wolfe Tones at Pairc Tailteann.
