Kiltale 2-17 Dunboyne 2-13  

Kiltale kept their league campaign going with a good display against Dunboyne at a prime new pitch in Kiltale.

The home team started brightly with a goal from Fergal McCabe and controlled the early play with a great supply of ball going into the full forward line. The holders created a lot of scoreable chances and confident finishing from Jack Regan, Ross Ryan and Peter Durnin put Kiltale in control. Dunboyne hit back with several points and two goals before the break to leave four points between the sides 2-3 to 1-10

Kiltale struggled for scores in the second half with Dunboyne punishing their indiscipline from placed balls. Ther accurate Jack Regan narrowed the gap from placed balls. The winners were reduced to 14 men with five minutes remaining when Peter Durnin picked up a second yellow.

With time almost up the crucial score came from Fergal McCabe. After a great run along the end line the corner forward finished with a kick to the net and kill off the Dunboyne challenge.

David Troy and Padraig Donoghue should be very pleased with the performance which was one of the best so far this year.
