See Meath bet Louth last week only 1 Duboyne player started Lavin and he was on the Team in 2012. 3 others used as Subs. 3 from Curraha which must be great for that club and 14 Clubs in total on the 24 including 2 From Boardsmill. No players really from the North Meath clubs Syddan, across to Kilmainhamwood to Kells down as far as Oldcastle for the 2nd year in a row. Once the hot bed of Meath football is now in a desperate state glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1119 - 03/01/2013 13:50:27 1313077 Link 0 |

thought there would be more starting from Navan, Ashbourne and Dunboyne seen as there the teams that have won everything this year?? meathman20 (Meath) - Posts: 83 - 03/01/2013 16:41:10 1313227 Link 0 |

Well Ashbourne won nothing, dunboyne won nothing and Navan O'Mahonys won a U17 league. And the reason there are no players from north meath is because they don't posses any good teams or players and most of them have to amalgamate to field teams in Division 3 or 4! All the teams in division 1 of the minor league and championship next year are from east meath and the two Navan teams: Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne/Kilbride, Dunshauglin, St Vincent's/Curraha, Simonstown, Navan O'Mahonys and maybe another club I am forgetting but the main point of this is that the powerhouses of Meath Football are now located in the East of Meath and no longer in North Meath. Killary emmetts competed in division 1 in the u17 league ! So not all of north Meath are in such a "desperate state" CMacT (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 03/01/2013 18:38:26 1313300 Link 0 |

NMG1; Navan o mahonys won a u/17 league, your correct there. the only u/17 competition for division 1 clubs last year. This omahonys team also won the u/16 championship in 2011 and the u/15 division 1 in 2010. If you followed this age group thru the years you will be fully aware that no one will touch this omahonys minor team in the 2013 minor championship.Their the only powerhouses in division 1 in meath minor football .For navan omahonys to have only 2 players on the meath minor panel is a little bit strange but come the offaly game in the championship i would say there will be at least another 3 or 4 pushing for a place. As for killary emmetts competing in division 1 in the u/17 leauge, i dont think you'll see them in division 1 of the minor championship this year. Sure how can you compare underage in North Meath clubs with the likes of Navan, Ashbourne, Dunboyne, Ratoath, Dunshaughlin etc. The pick of players are just not there. RoyalClass (Meath) - Posts: 790 - 05/01/2013 15:36:48 1313945 Link 0 |

Theres a crawley lad from st vincints i tink looks like he has the makings of something. Still fairly raw but could be a rough diamond in the works. senorchang (Meath) - Posts: 7 - 08/01/2013 13:14:45 1315213 Link 0 |

Stef Kelly is a quality player ! I saw him play for ballivor plenty of times and he was well able to win his own ball and beat his man ! I'd throw him in on the square, see what he's like there CMacT (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 08/01/2013 17:44:27 1315475 Link 0 |

what about barry reilly from o mahonys for the goals?? or is he over age? seen him against ashbourne this year, good kickout, big man under the high ball, good stretch, must be worth a look, or else he'll probably be another talent which will fall too the way side, a bit of training and he could be a top class performer, has all the attributes of a good keep, looked jittery at the start of the game but came into it in the end. beanstalk (Meath) - Posts: 18 - 08/01/2013 20:29:37 1315576 Link 0 |

Ronan Lynch from Saint Michaels apparantly not good enough to make the panel? Love to see the team if this is the case, because he was scoring 7-10 points per game as Saint Michaels won a championship. Before anybody says it, I am not a Michaels man being biased. tackleberry (Meath) - Posts: 324 - 30/01/2013 15:38:11 1325841 Link 0 |
