Replying To royaldunne:  "That was more to do with luck of the draw. Again I cant see any Meath club beating st lomans, tyrrelapass, garycastle the downs or even shamrocks. The last 3 would be competitive the first 2 are way out in front. People seem to be taking offense to what I say. However the likes of killoe last year easily dismissing Mahonys who then get annihilated by port laoise proves my point. I want nothing more than Meath clubs to be successful but unto the senior championship is completely restructured I cant see it happening."
How on Earth was it "luck of the draw" that Athlone reached the Westmeath semi final? They came third in the group stages and beat both Tyrellspass and Mullingar Shamrocks on the way to the semis (two of the teams you confidently state would beat any Meath team).
And Killoe of Longford beat NOM by 2 last year. The same amount the Westmeath champions were beaten by the Longford champions two weeks back. So were St. Loman's "easily dismissed" as well?
Seeing as you're fond of putting words into people's mouths, I'll state categorically that I don't believe that Meath football is all hunky dory, but you are talking rubbish when you come out with the stuff above.

Congratulations to Colmcilles! Great that the Seán Eiffe trophy will stay in Meath another year.

We're up against Mooncoin of Kilkenny in Nowlan Park next Saturday after a mammoth battle with Laois IHC champions Rosenallis.

Congrats to Colmcilles, was listening to a bit of it earlier and it sounded very tense near the end, well done to them.

Congrats to Colm Nally and the Cilles team. Fair play to you Royaldunne. I hope the hangover is not too bad this morning.

Royaldunne that is a sign that you are getting on. The only cure for that is more scoops.

A great weekend for the county massive congratulations to Colmcilles on their wonderful success and to Ratoath for further enhancing the reputation of Meath hurling in an equally hard fought affair, they can look forward to the final against Mooncoin with confidence. Who will the Cillies meet next does anyone know?

Congrats The Cilles, I'd be pushed hard to think of someone else I'd rather achieve such a feat. Cracking club. Hard to believe after so many underage battles over the years we'll only renew acquaintances this year coming in the senior stakes, but one I look forward to immensely.

Better team won yesterday. With a bit of luck, it could've been much closer but Mooncoin deserved to win.
Fair play to the lads for getting this far. Only Rathmolyon (who got to the final too) of Meath teams have ever won a game in the Leinster JHC.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Yes, pretty close, they will be more competitive than rathoath were this year.
However its not the Meath clubs fault, its the fact you can get beat in 2/3 games and still win championship, the system has done untold damage to Meath senior clubs, our intermediate standard is par with any other county as is junior. The problem is with senior, you can get stuck in a rut I think this is very evident when Meath clubs at senior level go out in Leinster. What's it now? 4/5 years since our co champions actually won one game in Leinster. The structure is killing the senior club in Meath, and I fear it will do the same to cilles."
Well Royaldunne, by business end did you mean in a relegation battle?
Was the senior championship tougher than you expected or was your team not as good as you thought?

To be fair, I do think people underestimate the "All-Ireland" effect. Colmcilles have pretty much been going non stop for over 18 months. They will be 100% fine. Should have beaten Blackhall in their last game but they just lacked the senior experience to get over the line. Even if they do happen to get dragged into a relegation playoff, they'll be fine.
Next year I think they'll make a bigger impact at senior.

Yeah the fantastic run to winning Leinster and very nearly winning all ire has taken its toll. They will be fine of that I have little doubt.
