Didn't impress in the games he started last year imo.

If you think of midfield these are the options we could have had...

Conor Gillespie
Conor Nash
Harry Rooney
Shane O'Rourke

Yet we will have none of them available this year.

We have Adam Flanagan back, Gillespie is unlikely to play again, and shane would be in similar situation.

We do but will be tough for Adam after a long layoff and now playing Junior B.

not to run Flanagan down. He has been off a long time and unfortunately if everyone was there he would not get a look in. For the good of Meath football he needs to be playing Senior or Intermediate

Yeah in fairness Junior B is the 4th highest level and he had a terrible injury very difficult to progress in those circumstances.
Many Dubs have said to me if Dean Rock played for Garristown he wouldn't be anywhere near the Dublins squad.
I also remember that John McDermott moved from Curraha to Skyrne and that benefited him hugely.Curraha were Junior or Junior b,but no way would he have progressed there.

Your club is your club, transfer happy clubs like Dunboyne this year and Simonstown in the noughties lack the team spirit and lose their identity. Bective would be senior if their players stayed and Dunsany could have won a junior if o Coleain had stayed

Boylan had a serious knack for getting good players from lower ranked clubs. A good player with the right attitude will succeed at any level

Regardless of our lack of options at midfield I want no excuses this year.

If we don't have big Mobile units for midfield then we need to plan for this. And have a back up plan if plan A fails.

Well yes I would agree with those points.

Might be time to get Tobin (D) out to midfield.

Haven't seen him play with Clonard this year so don't know how he is going. But seen him in the senior hurling final and he looks in very good shape. Think if he is in with the county and getting games it will keep him up to the pace required. But junior B is a very low level to have to step up from. In the long run I think he needs to be playing at a higher level.

What a complete joke, the thoughts of playing Louth in that kip again is farcical this year they couldn't even provide adequate water for supporters to buy in the shop. Why isn't a Meath/Louth clash fixed for Navan, this years clash was fixed there as Drogheda was deemed unacceptable so why are we faced with this venue again?? Wicklow in Aughrim I can understand they visited us on our last clash in 2015 so that's perfectly fair but a potential game with Louth should be in Navan simple as, I hope the county board didn't just roll over on this and make their feelings known in the coming days.

Likely it will be Louth too..

The venue is not very child friendly either and parking is rubbish..

I completely agree with this too. if Flanagan is good enough he can bring his team up a level. they surely would be favourite to win it next year anyway. he would be training with the meath squad all year anyway and would only be playing the club champ games assuming he is on the meath team but I personally don't think he is good enough for it
