Wexford v Wickow

They've changed the format for 2020. The semi final draw isn't till after the quarter finals, so we could get Dublin or Kildare in the semi final should we get there.

Are semi finals not open draw again this year? I thought it was a new format for 2020 or maybe I just read it wrong?

Might not be in opposite half, the semi final draw is being conducted after the quarters are completed so it'll be an open draw with the four teams left.

I think semi final draw is open this year? so we can still get Dublin or Kildare if we all win quarter finals.

Yeah it's a open draw after the quarter finals are done. Keeps teams interested is the idea behind it. Can't see us not reaching the semis. And then? Well who knows we could be after a great league, would we fear Laois or Kildare? No I think we would beat either. Also dubs? If we have a good game v them in league it will stand to us. I still think we one of the few teams who can put it up to them, apart from our inability to put the bloody ball over the bar this year we matched them in most other areas over 60 mins. So bring them on. Imo we will play them no matter what, be it semifinals or final.

I have been to numerous club championship games in the past few weeks ,,at both senior and intermediate level ,and unfortunly I cannot see any new talent so far , in fact the poor performances of some of our present county players ,has been a talking point . However this can happen ,so we shouldn't read too much into it . In reality our senior championship is far too weak and no cut to it given that twice beaten teams ,are still turning up in semis etc . This has led to a championship of go games which has definitely weakened our county set up . Probably just 8 -10 teams could really call themselves senior . It would be much more interesting for our club teams to compete in a Dublin / Meath / Louth / Kildare , elite league competition ,in the spring rather than the usual soft leagues we play among ourselves . Would it be worth trying for a few seasons ?

Judging by the way that draw went I believe we should be at home to either Wicklow or Wexford in that quarter final too, although if it's Wicklow our last clash with them was in Navan so a trip to Aughrim could be in the cards.

How many more hammerings from Dublin until you finally realise it's pros vs amateurs?

Surely Wexford will win that one with Galvin taking over. Hopefully as I don't fancy a long trip to Aughrim when the only prize is a hammering against Dublin. If it's Wexford in Navan I think we'll beat them narrowly similar to the Ofally match this year. The real stuff is the league and that's far more exciting then the championship.

That' the Spirit , Sure we will throw the towel in now and not bother playing next year at all.

A lot of Meath posters on here sound very like Kildare men.
