If his father wasn't the manager people wouldn't be half as hard on him as they are. He's been in our top 3 best players this year IMO. Yeah, maybe midfield isn't his most natural position but he's put in 4 massive shifts so far this year and deserves huge credit. Incredibly honest"
Agreed...........Massive workrate from Shane......full credit to him. Lets not forget we missed another great worker last night in James Mc Entee. Donal K did what donal always does leads by driving forward. Its a pity that so far these 3 lads for example dont get the support they need at times, thus caught in possession with little options too often. I assume Nally will address the whole area of anticipation in forward play. Say those any of the 3 lads go forward on attack my question is what plan is there for forwards to make themselves available for pass or support.? I clearly recall Stephen Bray being an expert in anticipation ....always in out in front and running into open space for a pass.. I think more attention to attacking play would bring us on another step and critical for further development of this team. Out tackling and workrate thoughout the team has improved under Nally as coach. Defending a massive improvement this year . Well done to Andy and all concerned we are heading in the right direction. However, i see the Kildare game as a real banana skin, and it will come down to the wire . If we can reduce the silly mistakes by 50% we will win.

Yeah agreed also on shane. Naturally people are suspicious he's lining out under his dad but imo it's deserved. Maybe his father has just motivated him to that next level. He wouldn't be picked by Andy unless he truly felt he earned it.

Absolutely, andy is professional when it comes to things like that.

To end for me a good win, I was thinking on way home of that old nugget, to play below par and win is very good. We know we can play better than last night (I'm talking about the first half in particular) now next week is the prize. I'm gonna say it now, we win v Kildare and we WILL be promoted , the lessons learned from cork match must be ironed out. Kildare will not let us off with some of the errors we made in this game. None the less, we won away from home, and by 6 points, so maybe I'm been too hard on everyone.
As a county ,as football mad people, I honestly believe promotion will do everyone so much good.
Hon the royal.

Shane MvEntee has been very consistent this year in Midfield. This is the where he should play as he ain't a defender. In the halfback line he struggles to mark his man and that's why so many have been critical of him in the past. Credit where credit is due and he is one of our better performers this year so far in a team that is definitely playing with more confidence. The new lads have made a big difference. Roll on Kildare next Sunday. Spread the word and get a large crowd into Pairc Tailteann next Sunday.

Talking to friends after the game today and everyone agreed that whoever wins in Navan next Sunday will be promoted barring a disaster in the final two games. It's going to be a championship game in March.
Royaldunne might meet you for a coffee at half time!

What's the story with the sub-keeper position?barry dardis can't be the answer, he is a lovely corner forward and showed a bit of that on Saturday with his 1-1 cameo in short minutes and has been showing it for summerhill for the last few years, surely a club keeper has to get called up as back up to colgan?

Fairplay to the lads for keeping the form going, though given how poor Cork are at present I did feel that we would win that game. Huge game up next v Kildare, a win would be huge for either team.

The games against Fermanagh and Clare are no formalities either! Fermanagh are unbeaten and Clare game is away! Kildare will certainly be tough but we need to take one game at a time!!

I agree he a good lad and works hard and has filled to gap at midfield well. But the is not the answer at midfield. I am worried about his ability to score he is not great in front of goal. And missed 2 or 3 gilt edge chances on Saturday night. If we are to beat top teams or win tight games. we need to take every chance going especially the easy enough chances. Also I was disappointed to way he coughed possession against Armagh he was dispossession very easily twice. When we where under pressure. He wasn't the only but I worry about his decision making under pressure. If Flanagan is fit I would start him. And if James Mc was fit I would got with James Mc keogan Kane. for me. On another note. I am not sure why Shane Mc Antee kept throwing his arms up and shouting at the bench. Just before he was taken of Saturday night ?

Because he was obviously injured and was gesturing at the bench to get him off and get a sub on. That's the way it looked to me anyway. Adam Flanagan is not the answer . Nowhere near mobile enough . The days of the Big Midfielder in there to just to catch ball are over. He'd be ran ragged by a mobile midfield. Agree Shane Mcentee isn't the answer but neither is menton but at the moment their our best two options and I'd have both in ahead of Flanagan.
