St Colmcilles are delighted to announce that Leinster GAA has appointed Níall Kane as Games Promotion Officer ("GPO) to the club.

In his role, Níall will work in the promotion of Gaelic Games and the St Colmcilles club within the East Meath community .  This is a very welcome development for the progressive East Meath Club who enjoyed an immensely successful 2016 and have carried that good form into 2017.  With a burgeoning young population and large and vibrant supporter base, the popular Simonstown man is sure to prove a big hit with the Seasiders.  Speaking in relation to the appointment, St Colmcilles Minor Committee Chairman Mark Gallagher stated  that " the appointment is a further progressive step in the evolution of St Colmcilles  Club and we wish Níall every success in his new role.

We would like to thank the Games and Coaching staff in Leinster Council and Meath County Board in assisting with Níall's appointment and the positive support for this initiative by our Club Chairman and Executive Committee. We look forward to reinforcing the fantastic work already achieved in our Juvenile ranks by club coaches and mentors, through Niall's new position.  Niall brings an infectious enthusiasm and energy to this role that is vital to improving our coaching structures, expanding our Schools Programme to second level and helping us to retain as many players as possible into adult football".

A graduate of Carlow IT, Niall was of course was one of the stars as Simonstown Gaels marched to a maiden Keegan Cup success last October as the Cilles for their part claimed Meath and Leinster Intermediate honours and the Meath Minor Football Championship.  Everyone at St Colmcilles extends a huge Cilles welcome to Niall and all Gaels across Meath GAA in general wish him the very best in his new role and future career.
