Half dozen rounds played in the 'A' football leagues

Donaghmore Ashbourne will look to cement their place at the top of Division 1 when they take on Dunshaughlin in round 7.

The race to win league points gathered pace at the weekend with the completion of Round 6 of the All County A Football Leagues.

Donaghmore Ashbourne have opened up a three point lead at the top of Division 1 and the current holders look set for another final. Blackhall Gaels join Summerhill, Simonstown and Wolfe Tones in second spot while last year's Division 2 winners, Rathkenny replace Seneschalstown at the bottom of the division.

Ratoath and Duleek Bellewstown share top spot in Division 2. St Michaels and Skryne are just a point behind. Ballinlough and Meath Hill are beginning to become isolated at the bottom of the group.

Trim with four wins and two draws along with Clann Na nGael move into pole position in Division 3. Carnaross with their good win over Oldcastle share second spot with the town side. St Brigids are finding life tough and with one point from six outings prop up the division.

They have a saying down Cortown way that 'they will be hard bet' and they are proving that at the moment. Mattie McCabe's charges are the only team with a 100% record in all the divisions. An improving Longwood are two points back. St Pauls along with Division 2 outfit Ballinlough are the only teams yet to register a point.
