Ratoath's Bobby O'Brien

Ratoath ran out comfortable winners of division 2 round 4 football league game played in Ballinlough last Saturday evening.

Ratoath 2-13 Ballinlough 1-6

The game began with both sides tagging on the scores until a well taken goal from Glen Reilly put the visitors into the ascendancy, Further scores from Bobby O'Brien and Conor Rooney plus an outstanding individual score from Gavin Quigley increased their side's advantage although the away side were guilty of missed opportunities to reflect their dominance. That said Ballinlough had a man sent off for a second yellow card just before half time leaving the home side with an uphill task for the second half, trailing 1-3 to 1-9 at the interval.

Withe the extra man Terry McGuinness's charges were by in large able to control proceedings for the remainder of the game. O'Brien chipped in the with his side's second goal and any hope of the North Meath men staging a comeback were dashed when they failed to convert a 45th minute penalty . As it was Ratoath cruised to a 10 point win and with this victory go top of the Division 2 table. Best for Ratoath were Ben McGowan & Enda Cahill
