Bective 0-14 Dunsany 3-15

In what was a repeat of last years Junior Football Championship final Bective suffered their first defeat in this years league campaign.

Bective, helped by a strong diagonal breeze, had the better of the exchanges in the first half on yielding pitch conditions in sunny Dunsany and went in at the break ahead at 0-8 to 1-2.  However they lost the influential Cathal McConnell to injury during the half, and also centre back Jarlath Brennan.

The second half saw a steady driving commitment from Dunsany and they gained dominance and overhauled the lead and went ahead.  Bective also lost Colm Barry to injury and with a number of absentees already before the game through injury now could not get back into this game.  Dunsany introduced many young subs and ran in two late goals to put the decision beyond doubt.

Best for Bective were Ronan Murtagh, Jack Grant, Cillian Reilly, Conal Shaw, Kevin Brennan and Mark O'Brien.
