Kildalkey's Derek Doran celebrates

Kildalkey 1-13 Dunboyne 0-3

Kildalkey qualified for the semifinals of the Brendan Davis Cup on Tuesday night after thumping Dunboyne by a whopping 23 points at St Lomans Park in Trim.

Kildalkey never let up from the word go and never gave Dunboyne a second on the ball with the backs tight and tenacious in the tackle and the forwards punishing every error by the Dunboyne rearguard.

The men in blue started at a frantic pace and raced into an early lead with Derek 'Ducksy' Doran getting the first point of the game. Despite hitting a few wides early on the village men settled down and reeled off a string of points. With Conor Kearney accurate from frees and Mark Healy hitting 2 over along with Paddy Coneelys 1-1 and 3 more from Ducksy and David Harmon also got in on the scoring act with a booming long range effort from way out the scoreboard read Kildalkey 1-13 to Dunboyne 0-3 at halftime.

The second half was more of the same as Dunboyne never got to the pace of the game and Kildalkey completely outplayed them in most departments for the hour.

Kildalkey brought on Podger Geoeghan for Kearney at the start of the second half and he helped himself to 2 points. Luke Rickard was also introduced and he got a point then Ducksy was moved to the full forward line where he scored 2 rockets of goals and he finished with a personal tally of 2-6 after wrapping up the scoring with the last 2 points of the game.

This was a game Kildalkey dominated from start to finish and never looked in danger of losing the half back line of Martin Doran, David Harmon and Maurice Keogh were unbreakable with the full back line ably assisting them Patrick Potterton continues to impress at midfield with Mark Healy chipping in with 3 points for himself.

Up front Paddy Coneely and Ducksy Doran tormented their markers along with the other forwards they done their bit for the cause and the subs that came on didn't do their chances of playing later on in the summer any harm either.

All in all it was a good night for the village as they march on to the semi finals against Boardsmill
