Garrycastle coach John Keane is well aware of the pace that Leinster club SFC opponents Ratoath will bring to their quarterfinal clash on Sunday.

Billed as a Meath v. Westmeath clash, this intriguing tie will be played at TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar at the weekend.

Ratoath won their first Meath SFC title last month and they are known for having a very attacking style that relies on great pace.

Garrycastle are seasoned campaigners at this level with some of their players having played in an All-Ireland club SFC final back in 2012.

However, Keane feels that they will have to have their game plan in order if they are to progress to the provincial semi-final.

“We’re not getting carried away, we intend to take this campaign one game at a time. Ratoath are a very good team with plenty of pacey footballers who like to play a fast attacking style of football,” Keane told the Westmeath Independent.

He added: “They have a nice blend of experience and youth. You only have to glance through their team sheet and it is evident they have some big names in their team.”
