Former minor and U21 All-Ireland winner John McCarthy was ratified as new county minor football manager. McCarthy , who played with Walterstown and is now heavily involved in Seneschalstown, managed this year’s U16s.

A new county U-20 football manager has yet to be appointed and with the championship for 2020 starting in February chairman John Kavanagh sought and was granted permission for an appointment to be made without the ratification of the county committee. Kavanagh said it was too short of a time frame to have a name before delegates and with no further county committee meeting ahead of convention there was a need to have a candidate in place as soon as possible.

The annual convention takes place in O’Mahonys GAA centre on Monday, December 16th at 7pm.
