IHC: Dunderry on top in Kilskyre

Dunderry came out on top in this hard fought Rd4 of the IHC in Kilskyre.
Jordan Martin opened the scoring with a fine point followed by a point from Conor O'Shea, but Tones came back and replied with 4 points and in the 15th min got a goal. Another Tones attack caused problems in the Dunderry defence and only for a reaction save from keeper Mickey Dowdall they would have had another goal.
The in form Conor Farrell settled the nerves with a fine point after good work from Liam Dempsey followed by points from a Jamie Leavy free and a superb point from Aron Feeney. Tones replied with 2 points but again Dunderry came back with 2 points from Leavy a free and a'65' and another point from Farrell. Then from a long puck from Dowdall won by sub Martyn who found Farrell he turned his marker and kicked it into the bottom corner of the net, Leavy scored another free but Tones replied with a point. Martyn was causing problems won a high ball and fired over a fine point to leave the half time score 1-10 to 1-7 to Dunderry.
The 2nd half was like the 1st both teams fighting for every ball but it was Martyn coming back from a long injury lay off that was starting to influence the game scoring the opening 2 points of the half. Tones responded with 2 points of their own, then in the 50th min after Brendan Wright blocked a goal bound shot his clearance found L.Dempsey his long ball was won by Martyn and he found the net. Back came Tones with 4 points too reduce the lead to 2 points. Wright again threw his body in the way to block another shot which was cleared by Dowdall to Farrell he ran nearly half the pitch and scored a fine point Tones scored a point but Leavy scored a free in the last minute to leave the final score 2-14 to 1-14 to Dunderry. Next up is Donaghmore/Ashbourne this was another fine team performance with every player fighting and blocking to bring home 2 valuable points for Dunderry.
