Kilmessan went into this game on a string of poor results but on Monday night played with a full squad.

Rathmoylon got off to a good start with two points from play before Kilmessan's Darren Reilly hits over two points from frees. A good score from Kevin Keena next. Then Rathmoylon levelled the game again, 3 apiece. Then a good ball to Kevin Keena who bears down in goal, and scores, 1-04 to 0-03. Kilmessan played well and added more scores from Joey Keena, Sean Doyle and a goal from Eoin Harkin. But a lack of marking led to a Rathmoylon goal also, score now 1-03 to 2-05. Kilmessan played well with Clynch, Donnelly and Brennan working hard in the half back line, midfielder Reilly and Lally were also spreading good ball to their fowards. Keena brothers, Harkin, Doyle all putting pressure on Rathmoylon backs as Kilmessan finished the half with 4 more scores.

Second Half Rathmoylon opened but Kilmessan's Darren Reilly kept his free taking ticking over with 2 more before both sides traded scores but Rathmoylon could not break down Kilmessan and never got within 7 points as they hit 2 frees, a 65, and points from corner back Alex Smith, Charles Keena and Kevin and Joey Keena. But Harkin put the iceing on the cake with his second goal as Kilmessan won the game on a scoreline of Kilmessan 3-18 Rathmoylon 1-11.

Good result for Kilmessan who still missing some senior squad players.
