Clubs reminded of their responsibilities regarding discipline

July 16, 2019

The dreaded red card.

Chairman Peter O’Halloran reminded clubs that they are responsible for the actions of their players, following incidents at recent matches.

O’Halloran expressed concern that three players received very serious injuries following incidents ‘that shouldn’t have happened.’

“Clubs have responsibilities and they must be mindful of that. Players cannot go out on the field and take the law into their own hands,” O’Halloran said.

With incidents of a disciplinary nature O’Halloran pointed out that they could only deal with the evidence that was before them when meting out punishment.
