Delight for Dunboyne as their wait for Keegan Cup success ends at Pairc Tailteann

Another season has come to a close with some very exciting championship finals along the way. Our tradition here at hoganstand.com is to pick a Man of the Match from all the major deciders. Here's our football winners from a very good 2018 on the club front.

Man of the Match and captain fantastic Cathal Finn raises the Keegan Cup at Pairc Tailteann. A massive source of inspiration for his team mates around him on the clubs biggest day since 2005.

Congratulations Ryan Moore. Our Man of the Match in the IFC final. Outstanding work rate, never wasted possession and kicked seven points in that win over Ballinlough at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Steven Moran. Our Man of the Match in the JFC final. Dunboyne were in a spot of bother until Moran's introduction after 40 minutes. The full forward dragged his team back in to the game and chipped in with 1-2 in that narrow extra time win over St. Vincents at Navan.

Man of the Match in the Junior B final? No brainer here. Ollie Lewis was simply outstanding as Na Fianna claimed their first title. His high fielding was a joy to watch not to mention the 1-4 he scored in that win over Slane at Pairc Tailteann.

Eoghan McMahon was our Man of the Match in the Junior C football championshipp final. The Ratoath forward gave the Clann Na nGael defence a torrid time and chipped in with six points in that comfortable win at Paddy O'Brien Park.

Well done Padraig Geoghegan. Our Man of the Match in the Junior D FC final. An outstanding display of work rate and accuracy, that yielded seven points, from the half forward in that win over Ratoath at Navan.

Congratulations Michael Murphy. Our Man of the Match in the Under 21 football championship final. The second half substitute turned the game on its head, scored 1-2 and set up another goal as Dunboyne claimed their first ever title at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Ethan Devine. Our Man of the Match in the U21 A football championship final. A powerful display, that yielded 1-6, from the county senior panelist as Na Fianna defeated St. Vincents/Curraha at Pairc Tailteann.

Congratulations Sean Kavanagh. Our Man of the Match in the Under 21 B football championship final. His ball carrying ability and an eye for a score gave St. Ultans Cortown Gaels numerous problems. The talented corner forward chipped in with five points as Ballinabrackey claimed the Stiofain O Mealoid Memorial Cup at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Dylan Morgan. Our Man of the Match in the Under 21 C football championship final. Massive workrate along with four fine points as Kilmainham/Drumbaragh defeated Kilbride at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Killian Hogan. Our Man of the Match in the MFC Division 1 final. An outstanding display from the midfielder as Donaghmore Ashbourne upset the odds at Pairc Tailteann.

Congratulations Ryan Shekelton. Our Man of the Match in the MFC Division 2 final. Despite been on the losing team the North Meath Gaels number 1 produced one of the best goalkeeping displays we have seen this year denying Dunshaughlin on numerous occasions. Well done Ryan. One for the future.

Well done Conor Ryan. Our Man of the Match in the Minor Division 3 FC final. The team captain was cool calm and collected and led by example in that narrow win over Oldcastle at Pairc Tailteann. Our photos would suggest that the young 'Hill' lads have caught the Kiltale bug at presentation time.

Congratulations James Gavin. Our Man of the Match in the MFC Division 4 final. An unerring display from the half back as Na Fianna were defeated at Pairc Tailteann.

Paddy O’Rourke is our Man of the Match in the Division 1 football league final. The former county keeper posted nine points as Gaeil Colmcille were defeated 0-19 to 1-13. The Skryne captain is pictured with Barry Smith during the decider at Pairc Tailteann.

Congratulations Robbie Farrelly. Our man of the Match in the Division 2 FL final. Some brilliant scores in his 2-4 tally as Oldcastle defeated Syddan to claim the Kevin McConnell Cup.

Well done Keith Ginnitty, our Man of the Match in the Division 3 FL final against Bective. Bossed the midfield exchanges, kicked two points and set up the Meath Hill goal in that thriller at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Sean Rooney our Man of the Match in the Division 3 FL final replay. A 'serious shift' from the half forward as Meath Hill claimed the Cummins Cup at Pairc Tailteann.

The easiest Man of the Match selection from the weekend finals. Paul Lynch was in inspired form for Moynalty as they stunned Ballivor to claim the Division 4 FL title. The captain led the way scoring 2-6 in that 2-9 to 0-14 win at Pairc Tailteann. Well done Paul.

Congratulations James Reilly. Our Man of the Match in the Feis Cup final. The corner back gave a brilliant defensive display as Gaeil Colmcille defeated Ratoath. Our photo shows James celebrating that win at Pairc Tailteann.

Well done Ronan McGuinness. Our Man of the Match in the Corn Na Boinne final. The centre forward missed the IFC final but more than made amends with a fantastic display, that yielded 1-2, against Oldcastle. Our picture shows the Ballinlough veteran celebrating with his kids after that win at Pairc Tailteann.

Declan Reilly was our Man of the Match in the Tailteann Cup Final. Got the crucial goal and four points as Carnaross made up for that disappointing JFC semi final loss to St Vincents with a 1-9 to 0-9 victory under lights at Dunganny.
