Dunshaughlin GAA intends to run a one-day Revised Rules Tournament in Dunshaughlin on Saturday 3rd November from 11 a.m. with the aim of Putting the FOOT back into FOOTball.

We are looking for eight teams/clubs to participate

Teams to be 13 a side

Winning team will receive a €500 voucher for sports gear

Entry fee €100 per team

All profits to the Support Seán Cox Fund

Revised Rules

With the aim of putting the emphasis on FOOTball the following changes to the normal GAA Rules shall apply:

Players may pick the ball directly off the ground.

The ball from the kick-out shall travel beyond the 45m line

A team is limited to a maximum of three consecutive hand passes.

Sideline balls must be kicked in a forward direction but in the case of a sideline kick being taken by an attacking player on or inside the opponents’ 13m line, the ball may be kicked in any direction.

Once the team in possession has entered its opponents half of the field no pass by hand or foot may be made that plays the ball back into their own half of the field.

Any player inside the 20 metre line who catches a ball kicked a distance of at least 15 metres by another player shall be entitled to take a mark.

Subs to a maximum of five may be used at any time. Substitution shall be made from the half way line and the substitute shall not enter the field of play until the player being substituted has left.

Organizational Arrangements:

Teams in two groups of four, Group A and Group B

Two pitches in use

Each team to play the other team in its group, 3 games in total.

Games to consist of two halves each of 15 minutes

Top two teams in each Group qualify for the semi finals.

Decisions of the Organizing Committee shall be final and binding.
