St Brigids 0-13  Clonard 1-9

The rain held off but the wind prevailed and so did St Brigids as they left Pairc Tailteann with their second win of the Junior Championship.

The Brigids work ethic was never in question from the start of the game. With the wind in their favour the ended the first half with a lead of 0-7 to Clonards 0-4. 

The second half saw an even greater hunger on behalf of the North Meath side. Excellent team and ball work saw the Brigids tapping over their scores despite facing the breeze. 

A late penalty in the 4th minute of injury time seen Clonard bring themselves to within a point of the Brigids, however the final whistle seen the Ballinacree side with the well deserved win.

Clonard 1-09 St Brigid's 0-13

Clonard fell short by one point in the second round of JA.FC at a windy Pairc Tailteann on 22/04/18 their  opening score from Eoin Treacy, Playing against the breeze in the first-half, scores were hard to come by with Gary Raleigh pointing two frees and a point from play from Mikey Mullen to go into the break 0-4 to 0-7.

Despite wind advantage in the second half Clonard struggled to convert their opportunities while Gary Raleigh added four points(0-4) to leave the score 0-8 to 0-13 on 29 minutes. Mikey Mullen reduced the gap with a vital point from play.When the hard working Jack O Donoghue was awarded a penalty with time almost up Gary Raleigh dispatched the ball to the net to close the gap to one point. The final whistle sounded on the kick out as St Brigid's held on.
