Convention: Eight new officers elected

In all there were eight new officers elected to the Meath County Board at the Convention held in the Navan O'Mahonys centre last night.
Peter O'Halloran leaves his Vice Chairman seat to take over as Chairman. The Drumconrath clubman defeated Eamonn Barry 111 votes to 70.
Former Minor Board Chairman John Kavanagh defeated Boardsmill's Arthur Reilly 140 votes to 41 to take the Vice Chairman seat.
For the first time ever there are three women elected to the top table, Secretary Mairead Delaney, Assistant Secretary Ann McDonnell and Irish officer Denise Morgan.
Another first saw the Flynns, Francis and Ciaran become the the first father and son on the Management Committee.
Jim Mullery was returned unopposed to treasurer for the 6th year running. Kiltale's paddy kelly retained his Central Council seat with a 106 to 72 win over outgoing chairman Conor Tormey.
Leinster Council delegates Brendan Cummins and Francis Lynch retained their seats as did Development Officer Jason Plunkett. Castletown's Greg Carry narrowly defeated Noel Dempsey to take the Coaching Officers seat.
