I was at the under 17 tournament below in Kerry a few weeks ago, which Mayo won. And the stand out player by far in my opinion and many others who attended the game was Haran lad from Crossmolina. His work ethic was a joy to behold and he must have the sweetest left foot that I've seen in underage football for a very long time. His shooting ability was magnificent and his vision for his team mates was outstanding. Also his ability to shrug off the opposition players was amazing. It reminded me of Aidan O shea in his minor years.

sweet and all as his left foot might be, he's a long way short of true minor talent in my opinion...will probably make the panel but will have to struggle for a place...there are few very decent forwards coming through in that age group. Have seen very little from him the past 2 seasons...thats not to say he wont come back into it, and he is certainly the best they have in crossmolina.

here we go again... another year of posters praising players from their own clubs as if they were the greatest players to ever put on a pair of football boots!

The young guy ye saw from Crossmolina was Ciaran MacDonald pretending he was under age! Will ye stop that rubbish..."I saw a young fella from such and such a club...what was his name? etc" We have been down that road before where ma, dad, brother, sister, girlfriend puts in "who was number 6 for ***** Club, Jesus he had a great game last Sunday". Its old hat now. Minors become great when they make it at seniors. We have had since 2001 four minor teams in AIFs and we still are looking for natural forwards, full backs and maybe a centre back so go easy on the "great minor". We have had them by the ton.... a few good seniors is what we want now.

gallagher will be captain, hennellys attitude is poor, no doubting his ability though probably the most talented foward in the county at his age..
