The Late Bobby Butler The death occurred suddenly on Tuesday evening February 12 at his residence of Robert (Bobby) Butler, Mullenmore North. His remains were removed from Hiney's Funeral Home on Thursday evening to St. Tiernan's Church. Burial took place in Crossmolina Cemetery on Friday after Requiem Mass. Bobby is survived by his wife Ena, sons Paul, Ennistymon and Dermot, daughters Ann Timoney, and Eleanor, sisters Ann O'Boyle, Mullenmore Street, Kathleen Mullis, Ballaghaderreen een, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relations and friends. Bobby, a native of Ballaghaderreen, came to Crossmolina in 1963 when he took up the offer of employment with Bord na Mona. He soon became involved in the GAA club which he has been a member ever since. Bobby saw big changes in the club from the time Barrett's field was bought in the mid sixties to All Ireland glory in 2001. He certainly played his part helping out with the running of the Marquee, festival, bingo and later years the club development draw. In January 2007 Bobby was elected President of the Deel Rovers Club, an honour he was so proud of. Wit his health not the best of late, he still attended the monthly executive meetings and was at the meeting the night before he passed away and made his usual contribution to the running of the club. The Nephin Players drama group was another past time that gave him great pleasure and played a prominent part in many of their productions down the years likewise the local church choir. Bobby will be sadly missed by all who knew him. To his wife Ena, family Paul, Dermot, Ann, Eleanor, sisters Ann, and Kathleen and to all the family we extend our deepest sympathy.
