Nallen, Fr. Jim

The late Fr Jim Nallen Fr James (Jim) Nallen, former parish priest of Ardagh, passed away aged 74, at his home in Crossmolina. Fr Nallen was once a member of the staff in St.Muredach's college, where he was Dean from 1959 until 1963, then teaching, maths an religion and training GAA teams until he left the school in 1984. Current principal of St. Muredach's College, Fr Martin Barrett, described Fr Nallen as a man who loved the outdoors and had a great interest in fishing. He was also a great GAA enthusiast and was uncle of current Mao football star, James Nallen. The funeral takes place this evening (Tuesday) at Hiney's funeral home at 4.30pm. removal is at 7.30pm to St.Tiernans Church, Crossmolina. Funeral mass is on Wednesday at 12pm and burial is at Ardagh church grounds. Fr Nallen is survived by his brothers John and Michael, his sisters-in-law, nephews, niece, cousins and grand-nieces.
