The Late Frank O'Toole The death took place at his residence on Tuesday July 26 of Frank O' Toole, New Street, Ballinrobe, and formerly of The Farm, Ballinrobe. Deceased who had been unwell for some time, worked for Western Pride, Bakery and Irish Pride Bakery, for a number of years, and the nature of his employment brought him into contact with a wide range of people. Friendly and obliging, he was held in very high regard by everybody who made his acquaintance, and his passing was deeply lamented. Frank was rickly endowed with sporting talent and his association with Ballinrobe GAA Club in his younger days were rewarded with the winning of an O'Mara Cup medal. Badminton, handball and racquetball were other recreational outlets he engaged in, and achieved quite a degree of success at. In the early years of An Sportlann, now known as the Lakeside Sport and Fitness Club, Frank and some of friends, were always ready to guide and direct the young players trying to cope with the disciplines practised there. Golf became Frank's abiding interest in recent years, a pursuit he shared with his wife, Catherine. He was the recipient of the golfer of the year accolade on more than one occasion. His remains were removed from St Joseph's Funeral Home to St Mary's Church, Ballinrobe and members of Ballinrobe Golf Club, Ballinrobe GAA Club, Ballinrobe Handball and the Lakeside Sport and Fitness Club, formed a guard of honour. The burial took place in the new cemetery after concelebrated Mass, Fr Pat O'Toole, CSSp, Mukuru, Nairobi, Kenya, Frank's brother, the chief celebrant, was joined by eight other priests, and a message of sympathy was read from the Archbishop of Nairobi. Frank is mourned by his wife, Catherine, daughter Martina, sons Tony, Kevin, Colm and Fergal, grandchildren, Mark, Robbie and Evan, brothers Fr Pat & Sean, sister Maureen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
