SEAN LANGAN RIP

The death took place last week of Sean Langan, RIP, Ballyglass, Claremorris. In his eighties, Sean passed away peacefully at Holiymount Nursing Home. Sean Langan had earned the immense respect of Ballyglass community and indeed across the parish and far beyond in his lifetime. For many decades he ran a thriving grocery and hardware business across huge tracks of West Mayo in the lean decades of the thirties, forties and fifties he provided huge employment locally and earned the respect of his countless customers in bad times. He made a great contribution to Ballintubber GAA Club in the fifties and sixties and Langans van was often packed to capacity as he ferried local players to destinations near and far around the county

Sympathy is tendered to his brother Seamus, the extended Langan family, relatives, and all who shall miss his gentle presence. There was a large attendance present as his remains reposed at the
Ballyglass Community Centre on Wednesday evening from 5pm with removal at 7pm to Carnacon Church. His funeral Mass took place on Thursday at 12 noon with the funeral proceeding to Burriscarra Cemetery. Ar dheis De go raibh a nAinm dilis. (Obituary will follow)
