The Late Michael Walsh

Much sadness was also occasioned by the death of Michael Walsh, Logatemple. Michael was was in his mid-60s, was a retired secondary school teacher. He had operated his own Garden Centre for several years and was hugely popular throughout the district.

Mick, as he was known to many was truly one of nature's gentlemen. He was a fine football in his younger years, sporting the county colours, and also wore the red and green representing Mayo in handball, a game at which he was top ace.

Mick is survived by his wife Helen (nee Fleury from Offaly), son Donal, daughter-in-law and grandchild.
