Mayo hurling manager Derek Walsh has expressed his disappointment at the decision to postpone their Allianz League Division 2A game against London.

The Mayo squad flew from Knock Airport to London on Saturday morning, only to find out yesterday that the game had been postponed due to a frozen pitch in Ruislip.

"We came over yesterday and even though the game might be called off, we still prepared as if it was going ahead. The build-up was perfect and it is very disappointing, but it's out of everyone's control," Walsh said in the Western People.

"The pitch was rock hard. It looked grand, but it was frozen. We were mad to get the game going and London were keen to get going as well, but it just wasn't safe. You couldn't put lads out on it."

The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, 9 March at the McGovern Park venue.
