Blew up for a free for Louth and gave it to Meath. A Meath point that was wide, Kelly took a quick free near the end that didn't work out. No Luck that day again!

Not much luck against the Royals since last beating them in the Championship in 1975. Since then Wee have lost ten in a row to Meath.

Louth blew the 1998, 2002, and 2010 games vs. Meath. Big time. In 98 Meath came good in the 2nd half, simple really. 2002 Louth were 4 points up with a minute to go and lost by 2 at the death. Crazy stuff. 2010 was a cataclysm. No self-respecting Meath person would acknowledge it. Although there has been some bizarre decisions in many games, Louth have blown their chances every time too. Ive seen Louth beat Meath in a few pre-season or League matches alright, but never a pressure game. It just seems to be a complete mental block/ complex where they either play out of their skins or else implode, or a mixture of the two. Im fond of the wee county myself, not looking for hassle, but the mindset of Louth people and players vs. Meath just never seems to be right. itll be a great day for football when they pull it off in the championship.

You can also add in 2006. Louth were leading Meath 0-10 to 0-06 at half time. At the start of the second half Louth had a great chance to score a goal. I think it was Mark Brennan who took a shot instead of passing it to the free player. If that had of going in Louth would of been 7 points ahead. Louth did not score at all in the second half. Meath won the match 1-15 to 0-10 with Joe Sheridan ironically scoring the goal for the Royals. Louth were actually slight favs with the bookies for that match after them winning the Division 2 title after a replay beating Donegal while Meath were relegated to Division 2.
