March 21, 2017

Monaghan star Conor McManus makes the draw for the Brendan Carthy 7-a-side U16 schools competition.

Former Dundalk Institute of Technology student and Monaghan GAA All Star Conor McManus was present for the launch of the annual Brendan Carthy GAA 7 aside U 16 schools competition.

Armagh legend and DkIT GAA manager Oisin McConville was also present and spoke about the progress that the college has made. After back to back Trench Cups, DkIT will compete in the Sigerson Cup next year.

The draw for the competition took place and threw up some exciting pairings with defending champions Patrician High School drawn to play two Louth schools De La Salle and Colaiste Ris as well as Colaiste Choilm Swords.

Another interesting group was Group C where Shane O'Rourkes St Pats Navan will meet Dessie Mone's Largy College. Also in that group is Mc Clarron Cup finalists Our Lady's, Castleblayney.

The competition is expanding each year and pits the best talent from Louth, Meath, Dublin, Monaghan, Cavan, Down and Armagh against each other.

It will be played over one day on Wednesday April 5th at DkIT Sports Ground. The competition is kindly sponsored by CX+ Sport and Sevens Cabs & Coach Hire
