Gerry Reilly U-16 FT Finals this weekend

Three great games are lined up for this weekend bringing this year's Gerry Reilly U-16 FT to an exciting climax.
The Plate Final on this Friday evening kicks off what should be a great weekend of football. Both Meath and Westmeath came close to qualifying for the Cup Final and both will be all out for a victory.
On Saturday, another great game in prospect when the third placed teams, Longford and Louth face each other in the Shield Final. This is the first time that Longford took place in the Gerry Reilly.
What a mouth watering game is in prospect for the grand finale when defending champions, Cavan take on Dublin in the Cup Final. Both teams were very impressive in the 'round robin' section. It's a game not to be missed.
The competition has proved a great success in providing a platform to launch inter-county football careers. This is backed up with so many players from all the participating teams making it all the way to represent their senior county teams at the highest level. Indeed many have gone on to be Football All-Stars.

This tournament commemorates Gerry Reilly who died tragically in December '87 at 16 years of age, and he had already proved to be a great footballer with huge potential to go on to great heights in the game.
