Chairman:  As we all adjust to these unprecedented times we want to take the opportunity to thank all the volunteers and members that offered their help to care for our vulnerable and elderly in our community who needed that extra bit of help .We appreciate their help and commend them on their kindness to others. As our teams now start out in their respective grades We would also ask our members to adhere to all the protocols in place throughout the county while attending matches unfortunately there are strict limits on the amount of people who can attend matches at this moment in time and we might not all be admitted to grounds when the 200 limit is in place. I hope all supporters show respect to those in place who have to make the tough call on match days. We are all in this together.

Division 2 League: We got back to playing football last Sunday with the start of the division 2 leagues. The leagues are split in half for this year, six teams in each section A and B, five games for each team, the top team in each group play in the final with no promotion or relegation this year. We travelled to Dromiskin last Sunday and lost by ten points although the score does not reflect on how close the game was up until the last eight minutes or so. The lads battled hard and done well for their first outing in so long and we were short a couple of players. The new water breaks in both half’s after 15 minutes might not work as well as some might think, in the first half the ref started the game after the water break with none of your players on the field the lads had to rush on, nobody seems to know the length of time that these breaks are, funny old game this soccer, OOPS sorry this GAA!

Team: Stuart Reynolds; Emmet Byrne, Conor Byrne, Jack Saddlier; Evan Caldwell, Andrew Sharkey, Stefan O’Hanrahan 0-1; Ciaran O’Brien, Jackie Agnew 0-1; Dean Corrigan, Niall Conlon, Bernard Osbourne 0-2; Robert Quigley 2-8(2f), Conor Culligan, Brendan Saddlier. Subs Dean Stanfield for B. Saddlier, John McLoughlin for D. Stanfield, Liam Kiernan for J. Saddlier.

Louth TV: Louth GAA is delighted to announce the launch of LúTv. For the first time, Louth GAA will be offering spectators an alternative to going to grounds to watch games. With limits on ground capacities at 200 at the minute, which includes players, background staff and match officials the need is greater than ever to have a streaming service provided for supporters who won’t be able to view the games. Louth GAA have teamed up with 247 Media to bring comprehensive coverage of at least 3/4 games per weekend from all grades and we will be hoping to provide highlights packages of games not fully streamed. 247 have a history of providing top quality coverage in the UK and have signed up with other counties this year as the demand for streaming has heightened since the Covid 19 restrictions were brought in. The process will involve clicking on the link in Louth GAAs website, adding your payment details and then you will be directed to the game, each game will cost €6. This can be done on all devices including phones, tablets, laptops and Smart TVs and also the option of streaming via chromecast will also be available. Next Sunday’s division one league game between Geraldines and Cooley Kickhams in Haggardstown will be shown live at 3pm. The following weekend is the start of the Championships and on Friday 14th August the game between Glyde Rangers and Dowdallshill in the Grove will be streamed live at 7.15pm. On Saturday 15th Glen Emmets versus St. Fechins will live at 7pm from the Gaelic Grounds Drogheda. On Sunday 16th O’Connells versus Dundalk Gaels will be live from Ardee at 3pm and Newtown Blues versus Mattock Rangers live at 7pm from Gaelic Grounds. On Monday 17th Na Piarsaigh versus Westerns from Darver will be live at 8pm.
