Offaly 1-16

Louth 1-10

Offaly made it two wins from two in the O'Byrne Cup by seeing off Louth in Drogheda.

John Maughan's charges followed up their first round win over Laois with another impressive display in which they had nine different scorers. Anton Sullivan's 41st minute goal set them up for the victory after the sides had been level on 0-6 apiece at half-time.

With Cian Johnson in fine scoring form, the visitors extended their lead to 1-12 to 0-7 before a Sam Mulroy goal in the 53rd minute brought Louth - who pipped Meath in the opening round - back into contention. However, Offaly replied with points from Ruairi McNamee and Cian Farrell to run out comfortable winners.

Whereas Ruairi McNamee, Eoin Carroll, Jordan Hayes, Anton Sullivan and Jason Dempsey were all on target for the Faithful County in the opening half, all bar one of Louth's tally came from the boot of Declan Byrne.

Ciaran Downey gave Wayne Kierans' men the lead for the first time shortly after the restart, but the visitors produced a strong response.
